Have you ever ordered a product from a company and been less that satisfied when it arrived on your door step? The main reason for your unhappy attitude stems from the fact that the item in the catalog seemed to be very different or of higher quality than the gadget you are now holding. In many cases you have the option to receive a full refund or at least credit towards another purchase from the vendor. So after a little effort your disappointment is nothing but a distant memory.
What happens when the product in question is a renovation or addition to your home?
Our goal is to have you, our client so familiar with the design that is going to become part of your home, that you will be able to envision it before the first day of construction. It is essential that everyone understands the final destination of our journey or there could be some real disappointment waiting for us at the end.
One of the valuable tools we use to make sure there are no misunderstandings during our Preliminary Design phase is 3 Dimensional models. These are very simple 3d “sketches” that are generated on a computer to show the basic idea of a design. It is common for some to look at drawings and “kind of understand” what is happening and not realize that some of the design decisions may have impacted their original design. Others may be afraid to ask questions that will reveal their misunderstanding. As a result, the finished product may not meet their needs or expectations. If a model is used, the design becomes crystal clear and changes can be suggested to enhance the design.
My suggestion to you is if you are having difficulty understanding an idea for your home, ask for more clarification. This will ensure that you get exactly what you want and allow us to give you the best service possible.
